This is a Group-wide role supporting the delivery of high-quality Projects and Events through a range of channels across the Group and in line with our Communications strategy.
The role holder will provide a first-class Projects and Events service to our colleagues and should be comfortable dealing with senior managers and colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Working in a fast-moving team, the role holder will be able to prioritise and manage several competing priorities, while delivering day-to-day tasks.
The role holder will be a solid communicator, both verbally and in written form. They will need to work both alone and as part of a team, using their own initiative and adopting a proactive approach to delivering workload.
Key Accountabilities
* Manage and deliver, through face-to-face and virtual channels, first-class, compelling, and engaging mid to large events, conferences, and projects e.g., Top 10, Manager’s awards, intranet, etc.
* Develop and maintain events and project plans ensuring there is a clear and structured narrative in place designed to ensure stakeholders are kept up to date.
* Develop, coordinate, and deliver a comprehensive communication and engagement plan/campaign to promote the events and projects you lead and connect the intended audience to drive understanding through engaging content using a range of appropriate channels.
* Support the delivery of the Communications strategy, ensuring the business narrative is reflected and embedded across all relevant channels.
* Apply brand guidelines, communication principles, and tone of voice appropriately through all projects and events delivered.
* Manage event and project budgets effectively, ensuring spend is within agreed limits.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders for the projects and events you lead.
* Build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and third parties, following the appropriate procurement processes.
* Measure the effectiveness and success of activity and challenge and learn lessons from analysis of the data.
* Be an ambassador for the Communications team in terms of team reputation, support provision, and standard of events and projects produced.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
The role holder will be a communications professional, able to develop, plan, and deliver engaging events and projects.
Essential:
* Event Management experience
* Project Management skills and excellent eye for detail
* Solid verbal and written communications skills
* Experience of dealing with and managing senior stakeholders and external suppliers
* Ability to produce events and project plans that appropriately line into business plans and strategy
* Ability to translate complex subject matter into accessible and engaging communications
* Proven experience of working in a communications environment
* Management of budget
* Effective time management skills - ability to work on multiple priorities, manage competing deadlines, and deliver projects from initiation to completion
* Ability to apply discretion, tact, and confidentiality as appropriate
