Building Maintenance Engineer (Plumbing)

The Harley Street Clinic, London

Full time 40 hours per week (Monday – Friday, 0800 - 1630 with on call and weekends also required 1 in 5)

Salary: £35,000 - £39,000 per annum + excellent benefits

We have an exceptional career opportunity for you to join HCA Healthcare UK as a Building Maintenance Engineer.

As part of the Estates team, you will provide a first class building maintenance service to the hospital and satellite sites, covering reactive, project and scheduled maintenance work.

What You’ll Do


* To work on planned preventative maintenance schedules, in line with departmental goals and objectives
* To respond to emergency and unforeseen maintenance requests
* To carry out all work in adherence to Health and Safety, COSHH, Hospital policies and guidelines to ensure safety of staff, patients and visitors
* To participate in an on call rota and attend on call duties as required
* To liaise and oversee any external contractors
* To provide technical advice & guidance to all hospital staff
* To ensure that all equipment is audited, documented and any faults rectified
* To be part of the clinics fire team & attend all courses to ensure current knowledge of legislation.

What You’ll Bring

* Qualified in relevant discipline e.g. City & Guilds or NVQ plumbing, or an engineering building services qualification
* Previous experience within a Hospital or similar organisation
* Health and Safety, COSHH
* General knowledge of Fire regulations
* Excellent customer care and communication skills
* Must have a flexible approach to work
* Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills
