About the team and the role
In the Trade Optimisation Manager role you will lead sales generation activities; and be the key cross department support working with our Commercial teams to build prioritised optimisation plans at a category level, to ensure we deliver growth through our E-commerce teams.
You will be the E-commerce SME for the category teams and be the first ‘go to’ contact, ensuring you are facing outwards to be able to ensure continual success across both functions.
What you’ll do
1. You will be expected to build key relationships with our internal Commercial teams to ensure E-commerce metrics are front of mind in any trading and range decision making.
2. Actively participate in category planning and post implementation reviews to identify key learning’s, drive decisions and influence future category trading opportunities.
3. Develop trading plans across the category, utilising customer insight, performance analysis and wider marketing view to inform plans and priorities.
4. Identify levers to drive the digital P&L, innovating and executing the required actions to drive growth.
5. Use expertise and experience to advise and support other functions and help identify underperforming areas from a category and technical perspective.
6. Use customer data to build compelling business cases to drive market share growth.
7. Utilise supplier knowledge, including M&S, to identify upcoming category and mission trends to optimise and maximise commercially ahead of the market.
8. Collaborate with Trade Marketing to optimise online promotional opportunities that drive conversion and acquisition.
9. Collaborate with Supplier Services and SFM to optimise media nominations, ultimately driving conversion whilst maintaining supplier investment.
10. Influence and ensure teams within Ecommerce are accountable to deliver the requirements of each Category plan.
11. Working with the Commercial team, you will upskill and spend time building knowledge of E-commerce to help support the connectivity of both teams.
12. Investigate and propose new sales generation and business efficiency opportunities.
13. Identify opportunities and drive new initiatives for increasing revenue using web analytics tools to improve key performance metrics such as conversion, bounce rate, AOV and page views

14. Commercially astute with the ability to identify business opportunities and use your innovative thinking to support growth.
15. Strong knowledge of ecommerce and associated metrics to drive a digital business.
16. Organised and great stakeholder management skills - you will have the capability to plan strategically and deliver plans through influencing cross functional teams.
17. Ability to use insights and data to make commercially driven decisions that optimise the customer experience.
18. Strong communicator, influencer and problem solver.
