Construction Solicitor (Associate / Senior Associate) - Bristol
This firm is a long-standing Top 100, full-service practice with a strong national platform and a highly regarded Real Estate and Construction offering. The Construction team is Legal 500 ranked and led by experienced, well-known Partners in the space, sitting within a wider Real Estate group that continues to grow across development, infrastructure and clean energy work.
This is a standout opportunity for a Construction Solicitor who wants early responsibility, genuine client exposure, and the ability to influence matters far earlier than is typical at firms operating at this level of work. Despite the quality and complexity of the projects handled, the structure of the team is deliberately hands-on. Associates are trusted to take ownership of work, manage matters day-to-day, and build direct relationships with clients rather than remaining in a purely supporting role. It is an environment where capability is recognised quickly and responsibility follows.
The role is focused on non-contentious construction work across a broad range of sectors, including commercial development, mixed-use schemes, residential projects, affordable housing, and strategic land. There is also increasing exposure to clean energy and renewables work as the pipeline in this area continues to grow.
Core work includes drafting and negotiating JCT and NEC contracts, bespoke amendments, professional appointments, collateral warranties, bonds, guarantees and wider construction documentation. There is also the opportunity to support related dispute resolution matters and wider real estate development work where appropriate.
The team advises a strong client base including developers, contractors, consultants and funders, delivering City-quality work from a regional base, with regular interaction across offices including London. This provides exposure to high-value, complex matters without losing day-to-day client contact or autonomy.
The team is led by Legal 500 recommended Partners who remain closely involved in the work while also providing clear supervision and support. There is a strong emphasis on development, with a clear progression pathway and genuine opportunity to shape your career trajectory within the group.
The firm is in an active growth phase within its Real Estate and Development offering, with recent Partner hires strengthening its presence in key areas such as development and clean energy. This is feeding directly into an expanding construction pipeline.
The ideal candidate will have around 4+ years' PQE with solid non-contentious construction experience, strong technical capability, and confidence in managing client relationships. Experience in development-led or infrastructure work would be beneficial, and exposure to renewables would be an advantage, though not essential. A proactive, commercially minded approach and the ability to take ownership of matters are key.
This is a role for a Construction Solicitor looking for a platform that combines high-quality work with real autonomy, early responsibility, and the opportunity to play a visible role within a growing and highly regarded team.
