Hays are partnered with an ambitious and growing not-for-profit organisation based in Merseyside who are seeking a driven,mercially minded Procurement Policy Manager to join their friendly team. The organisation has won multiple awards and has exciting plans to double in size over the next few years, so now is a genuinely exciting time to join them.
Your new role
The Procurement Policy Manager will have overall responsibility for thepany's procurement processes and policies, whilst having direct line management responsibility for one Category Buying Specialist. Thepany operates a decentralised procurement set-up, so a large part of your role will be providing strategic procurement guidance to Heads of Department and senior stakeholders across the organisation, as well as focusing on procurementernance, control of the procurement function, and supplier relationship management. As Procurement Policy Manager, part of your role will also involve ensuring that the organisation has a contract management process which ispliant and fit-for-purpose.
You will work closely with support services, external suppliers and contractors to optimise the organisation's procurement processes, mitigate risk and drive value through procurement.
**Please note that this role has limited involvement in day-to-day tendering activity – this is more focused on supplierernance, supplier relationship management and procurement process optimisation**
What you'll need to succeed
1. Previous procurement experience ideally within the public or not-for-profit sector
2. Excellent supplier relationship management skills
3. A confidentmunicator with the ability to naturally build rapport
4. Experience in procurementernance and procurement process control
5. Ability to manage / lead a small team (this role will be managing 1 person)
6. Ideally, you will be minimum CIPS Level 4 qualified
What you'll get in return
7. Starting salary between £38,000 - £43,000 depending on relevant experience
8. Option to work just 4 days a week ( hours spread across 4 days), so you can enjoy either a Monday or a Friday off!
