Theirhighly skilled, apprentice-trained workforce excels in precision manufacturing, fabricating, machining, assembling, and testing of large specialist machinery.
They deliver innovativesolutions for clients in the chemical, mineral, pharmaceutical, sugar and sweeteners, laundry, processing and geotechnical industries worldwide.
Through growth they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Fitter/Engineerto join the team on a permanent basis.
- Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 12.00 noon and 12.30 to 4.00pm and, Friday 07.30 to 12.30pm
OT at 1.35 for the first 7 hours, 1.65 for the following hours after that. (expect at least 5 hours OT from someone a week to muck in)
General Conditions

- The Maintenance Fitter (MF) works within the requirements of the ISO9001 Quality System and will carry out all work in accordance with the Operating Procedures, Technical Standards, Working Methods and Engineering Policies set by the Company.
Role Specification
The MF is assigned to work in the Maintenance Department and will report directly to the Maintenance Supervisor.
Job Scope
In your role as a Maintenance Fitter, you will carry out but not be limited to the following duties:-
- Design, promote and carry out preventative maintenance.
- Carry out fault finding, testing, and the removal or adjustment of existing fittings, fixtures and parts.
- Overhaul, upkeep and repair all plant machines including PLC controlled equipment, CNC and manual machine tools and fabrication equipment.
- Where a detailed specification is not provided, determine the cause of the fault and then undertake the most cost-effective solution to remedy the defect.
- Maintain and manage machine documentation and records.
- Installation of new machines and equipment.
- General repair to the building & its facilities.
- You will ensure that HS&E standards are observed and kept at the highest level and all policies in respect of HS&E are implemented to the full.
- You are required to work overtime when necessary and as assigned by supervision.
Skills & Qualifications
- A recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
- Ideally experience maintaining and repairing various plant and machinery including CNC and manual machine tools and fabrication equipment.
