As part of Bidfood’s continued innovation and growth we have created a national Accounts Receivable team, located in Auckland and Christchurch. We are now looking for someone with strong debt collection skills to join the team as a dedicated Collections Specialist. Your new role will see you dealing with people from all walks of life as our debt recovery expert. This is a green field role, where you will help design our debt recovery processes and build capability within the wider AR team.
Ideally, we seek a person with significant previous experience in debt recovery. Your background will include at least 3 years working in a debt recovery role for a recognised collection agency. You will possess a solid understanding of the legal processes involved with debt recovery. Strong computer skills and attention to detail are also prerequisites.
The position can be located at our Auckland or Christchurch offices depending on the candidate.
Key responsibilities :
• Overall responsibility for the collection of customer accounts which have been assigned to debt recovery.
• Proactively contact customers who are in arrears to establish reason for default and negotiate payments to bring the account back within terms.
• Maintain a positive, constructive relationship with customers through an empathetic, professional approach with clear and open communication.
• Where necessary, prepare formal demand letters, statutory demands, and other documentation to support debt recovery through legal channels.
