Job Title: Sales Estimator
Divisions: Heron Joinery
Responsible To: Office Manager
Role
This is a customer service role with direct contact with customers and the sales team. The main activity is developing quotes for clients. Product knowledge, a friendly manner, and effective communication are essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively work as part of the sales office team to ensure customer enquiries are accurately priced/repriced within Klaes and returned as requested.
* Constantly check and communicate with clients to ensure enquiries suit their project in terms of type, style, colour, and building regulations.
* Pay attention to product specifications for tested and approved products for various schemes.
* Refer concerns regarding technical aspects of enquiries to the Office Manager and/or Production Management.
* Prepare quotes with appropriate mark-ups using Excel/Klaes.
* Refer requests for variation in mark-ups to the Office Manager.
* Be aware of and communicate warranty limitations and Heron Joinery’s recommendations on installation, maintenance, etc., as per warranty and documentation.
* Maintain satisfactory levels of housekeeping and tidiness.
* Collaborate with the Office Manager and management to resolve overlapping issues.
* Maintain acceptable behaviour standards and report disciplinary matters to the Office Manager.
* Support training and development needs to enhance competency levels.
Additional Duties
* Maintain operational procedures for ISO 9001 and Chain of Custody standards.
* Report and follow up on concerns with plant and equipment for safety and efficiency.
Health and Safety
Observe all safety rules, use safety equipment, and promote safe working practices in accordance with the Northern Ireland Health and Safety Order 1978 and company policies.

Person Specification
Essential
* Good educational attainment, including GCSEs or equivalent in Mathematics & English.
* At least 1 year of experience in accounts, construction, or sales.
* Excellent IT, interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
Desirable
* Min HND in engineering, quantity surveying, building surveying, accounts, or related discipline.
* Previous estimating experience.
