Sales Engineer – Sheffield

Salary: £35,000 – £42,000 basic + OTE circa £50,000

Hours: Monday–Friday 8:00am – 4:00pm

Start Date: ASAP

Are you a commercially driven engineer with a passion for sales? Our client is looking for a Sales Engineer to drive growth, win new business and nurture existing client relationships. If you have a mechanical or electrical engineering background and enjoy the full sales lifecycle this could be the perfect role for you.

What You’ll Do

Identify, research and pursue new business opportunities across key sectors.

Qualify prospects, lead sales meetings, deliver presentations and close deals.

Manage projects from initial enquiry through to contract completion and handover.

Act as the main contact for a portfolio of clients building strong long-term relationships.

Collaborate with internal teams to develop tailored proposals and pricing solutions.

Use CRM systems to track leads, opportunities and sales activity.

Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform sales strategies.

What We’re Looking For

Minimum 2 years’ experience in B2B sales business development or strategic account management.

Strong commercial awareness and ability to sell value-based solutions.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; confident presenting to clients.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.

Experience managing multiple projects and seeing them through from enquiry to completion.

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification or strong engineering background.

Desirable

Experience in capital equipment sales or industrial/technical markets.

Familiarity with consultative selling techniques.

Experience preparing commercial proposals, quotations and contracts.
