Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented MOT Tester to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be proficient in using both hand and power tools. This role involves conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet safety and environmental standards, as well as performing necessary repairs. The MOT Tester will play a crucial role in maintaining the quality and reliability of our service.
Responsibilities
* Conduct MOT tests on various types of vehicles, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
* Identify and diagnose mechanical issues, providing accurate reports on findings.
* Perform necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure vehicles pass the MOT test.
* Utilise hand tools and power tools effectively for repairs and maintenance tasks.
* Maintain a clean and organised work area, adhering to health and safety regulations.
* Communicate with customers regarding the status of their vehicles and any required work.
* Assist in heavy lifting tasks as needed during vehicle inspections or repairs.
Qualifications
* Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in vehicle maintenance or repair.
* Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the role.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills.
* Relevant qualifications or certifications for conducting MOT tests are preferred but not mandatory.
