Park Cakes is a £250 million business which supplies cake and desserts to service the own brands of major retailers.
Their products include, high end celebration cake products, slab cakes and mainstream desserts, they mostly supply Marks & Spencer's although they also supply other major retailers.
This role is specifically within their CI i.e. Continuous Improvement Department which is involved across several departments to analyse how they operate to make changes to improve their business.
You'll learn about quality, data analysis and general business processes and get experience across a wide range of Departments and across all levels of the business and have training in Kaizen methodologies.
A Typical Day in the Job:
* Carrying out time and motion studies to assess where there are areas of efficiency in production e.g. downtime
* Working with managers and operatives to find out what is the root cause of inefficiencies
* Analysing data to identify waste, loss of production etc
* Devising solutions for better ways or working
* Delivering projects with the support of Departments to improve the production process, this might be new equipment, new ways of working
