About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and dedicated Attendance Officer to join a school in Wakefield on a full-time temporary basis. This is a vital role in supporting student welfare and ensuring high levels of attendance across the school.The successful candidate will work closely with a permanent member of staff, carrying out home visits to check in on students, follow up on their whereabouts, and provide support where needed. Alongside this, you will be responsible for logging information accurately on school systems and maintaining clearmunication with parents and carers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct home visits with a colleague to follow up on student attendance.
2. Make phone calls to parents/carers to discuss attendance concerns.
3. Log and update attendance records on school systems with accuracy.
4. Support attendance administration tasks as required.
5. Work collaboratively with staff to promote good attendance and student engagement.
Requirements
6. Previous experience in a school or similar setting is desirable.
7. Strongmunication skills with the ability to engage with students, families, and staff.
8. Organised and detail-oriented, with good IT skills for record-keeping.
9. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
