Role Information
At our Hair & Beauty Academies we offer more than just education – we provide a dynamic, hands‑on experience in fully operational salons that mirror real‑world environments. Learners gain practical skills while training in a professional setting, supported by our wide range of accredited courses spanning Levels 1 to 4. With 13 academies across the country and growing, we are proud to be building the future of the hair and beauty industry.
As a Nail Technology Tutor you will bring your industry expertise to life through our comprehensive training programmes, delivering and assessing courses for apprentices, adult learners and study programme participants. With a learner‑focused approach, you will empower our learners to achieve their full potential and consistently deliver outstanding results.
Flexibility is important in this role, as your working days and hours may vary depending on new course start dates and academy timetables. To reflect this, our tutors are contracted between Monday and Sunday, from 07:00 am to 10:00 pm. While the schedule can shift, no two days are the same, and your impact will be lasting.
Duties
* Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive, and differentiated teaching sessions, ensuring effective progression of learners.
* Adhere to the scheme of work and the Education Inspection Framework (EIF) standards.
* Deliver theory and practical sessions that equip learners with relevant hairdressing knowledge, skills and behaviours, aligned to industry and qualification standards.
* Assess and provide constructive feedback on learners’ work, clearly identifying areas of achievement and areas for improvement.
* Manage learners’ records and progress through regular, accurate use of digital systems for assessments, learner portfolios, progress monitoring and attendance tracking.
* Embed Maths, English, digital literacy and personal development effectively throughout curriculum delivery.
* Participate in LCG quality assurance activities working closely with the quality team.
* Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, promoting professional standards, behaviours and expectations in line with industry requirements.
* Undertake continuous professional development to maintain current industry and teaching practice standards.
* Support the development of learners’ employability, work‑readiness skills and progression pathways into employment or further education.
* Collaborate with the wider team to ensure curriculum alignment, sharing best practices and continuous improvement in teaching and learning quality.
* Where applicable, generate teaching and learning resources as required or use the LCG resources.
* Deliver KPIs in line with company expectations (Register, marking policy, learner satisfaction).
* Complete regular and ad‑hoc reporting as and when required.
* Positively promote the ethos, culture and development of the LCG in every aspect of its business.
* Contribute to the commercial income of the academy salon, meeting salon targets.
* Conduct your role in line with the company values and expected behaviours.

Essentia Criteria
Experience
* Relevant industry experience as a professional nail tech.
* Experience in delivering and assessing apprenticeships, study programmes or adult education.
* Strong digital literacy, proficient in using online learning platforms and management systems.
Knowledge & Skills
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Passionate about learner achievement and progression.
* Highly organised and able to effectively manage workload and priorities.
* Flexible, adaptable and proactive in embracing innovative teaching methodologies.
* Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
* Committed to continuous professional development and excellence in education delivery.
* Appropriate classroom management skills.
Qualifications
* Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Nail Services (or equivalent professional qualification).
* Recognised teaching qualification (minimum Level 3 Award in Education & Training, preferred Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training) or be working towards these.
* Assessors Award (e.g. TAQA/A1, D32/D33) or be working towards.
* GCSE C grade (or equivalent e.g. L2 Functional Skills) in Maths & English.
