Newhall Estate is a prestigious wedding and events venue known for delivering exceptional, high-end experiences in a unique setting. Alongside the Estate, our sister company MadMax Adventures delivers dynamic outdoor activities and adventure-based events.
We are seeking a highly organised and driven Operations & Events Manager to oversee operational delivery across both weddings at Newhall Estate and events at MadMax Adventures. This maternity cover role offers real scope, responsibility and variety with the potential for a permanent position beyond the 12-month contract.
This is a role combining event management and operational oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Management
* Overseeing day-to-day operations across weddings and outdoor events
* Ensuring consistently high standards across the Estate and activity site
* Managing event schedules, logistics and staffing requirements
* Implementing and maintaining operational systems and processes
* Ensuring compliance with health & safety procedures
Weddings & Events
* Managing weddings from final planning stages through to delivery
* Acting as a senior on-the-day lead to ensure flawless execution
* Coordinating suppliers, caterers and contractors
* Supporting client communication and maintaining the Estate's premium reputation
MadMax Adventures
* Overseeing bookings and operational readiness
* Supporting delivery of corporate and private outdoor events
* Ensuring site presentation, safety and customer experience standards
* Assisting with business growth and operational efficiency
About You
We are looking for a confident, solutions-focused professional who thrives in a fast-paced hospitality or outdoor environment.
Essential:
* Minimum 2 years' experience in hospitality
* Strong operational or event management experience
* Excellent organisational and leadership skills
* Ability to manage multiple events and priorities simultaneously
* Calm and decisive under pressure
* Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends
* Full UK driving licence (essential due to our rural location)
Desirable:
* Experience in wedding venue operations
* Experience in outdoor events or activity-based businesses
* Knowledge of health & safety procedures in event or outdoor settings
