Job Title: Transport Planner
Location: Kirkbymoorside
Salary: Up to £37,000 per annum
Schedule: Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:
* Schedule vehicles and drivers on a daily and weekly basis, producing clear load plans and driver paperwork packs.
* Communicate plans effectively to drivers, farmers, customers and field staff, providing prompt updates when changes occur.
* Supervise drivers in real time using vehicle tracking systems, resolving delays and adjusting plans to meet unforeseen conditions.
* Manage external hauliers by issuing correct documentation and monitoring progress.
* Ensure all drivers have the required customer and regulatory documents, including pig movement licences and export declarations.
* Maintain driver rotas, manage holiday cover and ensure compliance with driver hours regulations and infringement procedures.
* Book vehicle inspections, MOTs, maintenance and defect repairs with the in-house garage.
* Support the Transport Manager with transport compliance documentation.
* Create and update driver route risk assessments and assist the Health & Safety team with safe systems of work and SOPs.
Skills / Experience:
* Previous experience in transport planning, logistics coordination or a similar operational role.
* Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
* Solid understanding of transport compliance, including driver hours, vehicle maintenance requirements and regulatory documents.
* Confident communicator able to liaise effectively with drivers, farmers, customers and colleagues across various communication methods.
* Ability to work under pressure, adapt plans in real time and provide practical solutions to unexpected challenges.
* Competent IT skills, including vehicle tracking systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in planning, paperwork and compliance records.
