Willand School requires a caretaker to ensure our wonderful school grounds and buildings are well maintained and to act as a key holder for the school.
Our school site is modern, spacious and benefits from well-equipped classrooms; a hall used for PE, lunches and assemblies; two playgrounds; an environmental area; and a large level playing field.
We have a team of dedicated and enthusiastic staff, who through their daily work demonstrate commitment to our school vision; 'Learning for Life'. They offer a broad and balanced curriculum, offering a wide range of learning experiences both in and out of the classroom. We have high expectations and provide learning environments which are attractive, stimulating and fully demonstrate our commitment to providing the best we can for our pupils.

Main duties and responsibilities:
1. To ensure the school buildings are safe, clean and maintained.
2. Be aware of the Health and Safety at Work Regulations and comply with its requirements in all aspects of the work. Where required, training will be provided.
3. Provide advice to the School Business Manager if / when action required.
4. Hold keys and be responsible for the security of the building(s) which may include unlocking / locking premises.
5. Be able to quickly respond to unfamiliar circumstances and to assume responsibility for a site at short notice.
6. Provide a minor maintenance service as specified and undertake specialist periodic cleans.
7. Flexibility to be available to be on site outside normal working hours.

This role requires a DBS disclosure.
This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.
