The DevOps team
DevOps at this global alternative IM minimises operational risk and helps the wider technology organisation be as efficient as possible, by focusing on identifying and exploiting automation opportunities. This includes ownership of both development pipeline and production environment automation, including CI, deployment and monitoring. They also work closely with the Core Architecture team, working with them to evolve and scale systems to meet the needs of the business as it continues to grow.
As a DevOps Engineer, responsibilities will typically include:
1. Infrastructure and environment automation
2. Owning, managing and maintaining the Continuous Integration infrastructure
3. Development of monitoring and diagnostics
4. Delivery of end-user automation solutions
What makes a great candidate?
In order for you to get the most out of this role, you’ll need to have:
5. PowerShell / scripting language
6. C#, Java or Python – prior history as developer or the ability to code
7. Infrastructure As Code – Ansible, Terraform or equivalent
8. Containerisation using Docker, and orchestration via Kubernetes or Docker Swarm
9. Monitoring with ELK, Grafana or equivalent
10. CI/CD with TeamCity
11. Microsoft SQL Server
12. Windows and Linux administration experience
13. A-Levels at grade A*/A/B/ (or international equivalent) and a minimum 2.1 degree in Computer Science, or a related field, from a Russell Group university
It is also preferable for you to have:
14. Atlassian knowledge – Bitbucket, JIRA
15. Artifact storage using Artifactory
16. Octopus Deploy
17. Static analysis tools e.g. SonarQube
18. Control-M
19. Cloud experience (Azure, AWS or GCP)
20. VMware (vSphere) and SAN experience
