Teaching Assistant (Full-Time) – Secondary School
Location: Hull, East Riding of Yorkshire
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, term-time only
Salary: £95–£110 per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the Role
Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in Hull from September 2026. This is a full-time position, ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people in their education and development.
You will work closely with teaching staff to provide classroom support, assist with learning activities, and help create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Support teachers in delivering engaging and effective lessons across a range of subjects
2. Provide one-to-one and small group support to students, including those with additional needs
3. Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom resources
4. Promote positive behaviour and help manage classroom dynamics in line with school policies
5. Support students’ academic, social, and emotional development
6. Help track and report on student progress where required
7. Supervise students during break times, transitions, and school activities
8. Contribute to maintaining a safe, inclusive, and supportive school environment
Requirements
9. Previous experience working with children or young people (school-based experience desirable)
10. A genuine passion for education and supporting student development
11. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
12. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
13. A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach
14. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
15. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant) are desirable but not essential
