Interim Actuarial Specialist – 12-month FTC
Location: Leatherhead, York, Bristol, Norwich, Sheffield or London
Salary: c. £60,000 national and c. £70,000 for London
A bit about the job:
Are you someone who enjoys digging into the detail and solving complex problems? Do you have a strong grasp of Life and/or Pensions products and a head for numbers? If you are available immediately, or at short notice, to start a new role, this could be the perfect opportunity for you, as we’re looking for a collaborative and curious individual, to join our Actuarial Services team on a 12-month fixed-term contract (maternity leave cover).
What you’ll be doing:
1. Reviewing and implementing assumptions / illustrations used for pension product projections
2. Testing system changes and maintaining spreadsheet tools
3. Supporting projects like the Pensions Dashboard and Guided Retirement
4. Responding to admin queries and producing manual illustrations
5. Documenting your work to ensure strong governance and audit trails
6. Supporting and potentially line managing junior team members
7. Collaborating with internal teams and third-party suppliers to meet deadlines
What we’re looking for:
8. Life / Pensions product knowledge and experience is essential.
9. Knowledge of actuarial principles and practices (full or part qualification as an actuary would be beneficial but not essential)
10. Strong analytical skills and excellent MS Excel knowledge
11. Ability to manage and prioritise workload in line with business objectives
12. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
What you’ll get for this role:
13. Annual salary of c. £60,000 to £70,000 (depending on skills, experience, and location)
14. Bonus opportunity of 10% (actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.)
