Part Time Variable Hours - Facilitator of Adult Provision Hours: Part-time variable Hourly rate: £26.51* *the base hourly rate is £17.10 per hour, plus payment for holiday and preparation which gives an approximate hourly rate of £26.51 Share what you love - and get paid for it! We’re looking for enthusiastic, passionate individuals to deliver non accredited hobby, leisure, craft, and DIY sessions starting in September 2026. These sessions are designed to be fun, hands on, and inspiring. You can choose to offer a short series of evening classes on Tuesdays or Wednesdays, or run a full day workshop as part of our popular Event Saturdays. All sessions will take place at York College, where you’ll have access to our workshops, studios, specialist equipment, and materials as appropriate. If you have a skill, passion, or special interest that others would love to learn-whether it’s crafting, DIY, or another creative hobby-we’d love to hear from you. No formal teaching qualifications are required. We’re looking for people who bring enthusiasm, practical expertise, and the ability to engage and inspire a group. N.B. In the Supporting Evidence section of your application, please clearly state which session(s) you wish to deliver. Provide each session with a brief title and a short description (maximum 100 words), including: • Your proposed delivery model (e.g., evening or Saturday) • The number of weeks or duration of the session Please also indicate your availability-Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, or a combination of these. About the Person To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience: • Clear Communication: Ability to present information clearly through step-by-step instructions, demonstrations, and presentations to adults with a wide range of experience levels. • Subject Expertise: Strong practical knowledge and hands-on experience in the hobby, craft, or DIY skill you wish to deliver. • Instructional Experience: Previous experience leading, training, or facilitating groups of adults is beneficial, though not essential. • Planning Skills: Ability to design engaging, well-structured sessions suitable for adult learners. • Organisation: Competence in preparing materials, setting up safe and efficient workspaces, and managing essential administrative tasks such as attendance and feedback. • Health & Safety Awareness: Understanding of relevant safety practices, particularly when working with tools, machinery, or specialised materials in DIY or craft environments. • Operational Readiness: Experience in preparing resources, maintaining equipment, and ensuring learning spaces remain healthy, safe, and secure. About the College We are a large, regional college serving a population across York and North Yorkshire of more one million people. Each year, we have approximately 4,000 school leavers, 1,000 apprentices, 2,000 adult students, and 400 higher-level students studying with us.
