Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our friendly culinary team. The ideal candidate will a passion for food, and a commitment to delivering high quality food in our inviting relaxed cafe. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, develop innovative menus, and ensure the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The successful applicant will have a background in food production and work in a calm manner with front of house and customers.
Responsibilities
* Lead and supervise kitchen staff to ensure efficient food preparation and service
* Oversee daily kitchen operations, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and safety
* Develop and implement innovative menus that meet customer preferences and dietary requirements
* Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with recipes and presentation standards
* Manage food production processes to minimise waste and optimise resource utilisation
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain accurate documentation
* Train and mentor junior kitchen staff to enhance their skills and performance
* Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service delivery
* Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock control efficiently
* Uphold hospitality standards by ensuring excellent customer service during meal service
Requirements
* Proven experience in a culinary or restaurant environment, with supervisory or leadership responsibilities
* Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in hygiene standards
* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
* Leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
* Experience in menu development and food presentation techniques
* Good communication skills to liaise effectively with staff and management
* Previous hospitality experience is highly desirable, along with serving knowledge
* A passion for culinary arts coupled with creativity and innovation in food styling and presentation

Pay: £26,500.00-£30,000.00 per year
