We are looking to recruit a Prescriptions Clerks to support our GPs and other members of the clinical team to provide a responsive prescription service for our circa 16,000 patients.
Main duties of the job
Duties will include co-ordinating and preparing repeat prescriptions for our patients as well as co-ordination of medication reviews and changes and data entry onto patient records. You will also liaise with patients, colleagues, the pharmacy team and external pharmacies.

We are a friendly, high achieving, 6 Partner GP Training Practice located in the centre of Emsworth.
The post holder will be employed by Hayling and Emsworth Primary Care Network but the location and day to day management for the role will be Emsworth Medical Practice.
Job responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Delivering the technical aspects of prescriptionpreparation to ensure the safe prescribing of medicines, ensuring errors areminimised.
Complying with legal and professional requirements,accepted guidance on professional practice, and with safe systems of work forre-authorising repeat prescriptions.
Safe management of repeat prescriptions and co-ordination of medication reviews or changes.
Liaison with pharmacy team and externalpharmacies on the supply of prescribed drugs, alerting our clinicians of anysupply issues and forwarding information on the recommended alternatives.
Expediting urgent prescriptions to help ensure asafe and responsive service for our patients.
Responding to enquiries from patients, carers, practicestaff, NHS administrators, consultants or the pharmacy team in a courteous,timely and efficient manner, by telephone, letter and email and occasionallyface-to-face. Maintaining precise records of the communications.
Posting and emailing written correspondence asappropriate to deliver the requested correspondence in a timely manner andensuring this is recorded in the patient record.
Maintaining accurate patient records promptly andquickly - entering data in accordance with reporting requirements.
Keeping upto date with the Practices formulary and the national restricted drugs list.
Bringing any queries to the attention of therelevant GP, to include under and over usage.
On the GPs instructions, inactivate drugs thathave never been issued or have not been issued for a specified period of time.
Building good working relationships with localPharmacies and ensuring close liaison to resolve queries.
Creating tasks and assisting Clinicians in managingdocument workflow relating to prescriptions.
Establishing and maintaining filing and administrativesystems so that written or computerised information is easily accessible andsecure.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* GCSC pass in English and Maths
* NVQ Level 2 Certificate in Pharmacy Skills (or equivalent)
Experience
* Experience as Pharmacy Technician or Dispensing Assistant or similar in a healthcare environment or pharmacy.
* Experience as Prescriptions Clerk or similar in Primary Care setting.
