Civil Engineering Project Manager – Cardiff

Overview
An established and highly respected civil engineering contractor is seeking an experienced Civil Engineering Project Manager to join their team on major projects across South Wales, with a strong focus around Cardiff.
This role is ideally suited to a Project Manager with a solid background in heavy civil engineering, particularly cofferdams, industrial projects, and heavy plant foundations, who is looking to work close to home on technically challenging schemes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Manage civil engineering projects from pre-construction through to completion
2. Take full responsibility for programme, budget, quality, and health & safety
3. Oversee site teams including Engineers, Supervisors, and Subcontractors
4. Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders
5. Manage temporary works including cofferdams and complex groundwork solutions
6. Ensure works are delivered in line with CDM regulations and company procedures
7. Monitor progress, resolve technical issues, and drive projects to successful delivery
Essential Experience & Skills
8. Proven experience as a Project Manager within civil engineering
9. Strong background in:CofferdamsIndustrial civil engineering projectsHeavy plant foundations
10. Experience managing groundworks and structural civils packages
11. Excellent knowledge of construction methodology, sequencing, and temporary works
12. Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
13. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and tight programmes
Qualifications
14. Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent)
15. SMSTS
16. CSCS (Black or Gold Card preferred)
17. First Aid (desirable)

18. Projects are primarily based in and around Cardiff
19. Preference for candidates local to the Cardiff / South Wales area
