Job overview
To cook and supervise staff at various sites throughout the Greater Manchester Area. To provide professional catering service, manage food production within the food service department, ensuring high-quality food standards and compliance with internal and external regulations.
Main duties of the job
* Cook food following specified recipes, production methods and required standards.
* Portion food according to established procedures.
* Complete production documentation as required.
* Report deficiencies in food production, quality, and temperature audit to the supervisor.
* Store food correctly when not in use and ensure proper labeling to avoid cross contamination.
* Adhere to HACCP and Trust catering policy, ensuring all dietetic requirements are met.
* Monitor and control food waste.
* Perform general production work across all kitchen sections.
* Develop close working relationships with managers, supervisors and ward staff.
* Assist in preparing, cooking and dispatching all meal types, including those for special dietary needs or food allergies.
Shift pattern: Saturday (midnight to midnight) and any weekday after 8pm and before 6am. All time on Sundays and Public Holidays (midnight to midnight).
