Overview
RPS is seeking a Senior P6 Planner for the Water Industry to join our Water Team in the UK. The role involves working on capital delivery projects across major water industry frameworks, with a focus on wastewater infrastructure and project controls.
Responsibilities
* As a Senior P6 Planner you will be responsible for working as part of a small team in the planning function of utility projects. This will include the production, updating and monitoring of programmes using Primavera P6 under NEC 3&4 Forms of Contract.
* Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 software.
* Coordinate input into the programme from the construction team and take the lead on programme development.
* Ensure the production of up-to-date programmes throughout the duration of projects using P6.
* Review construction progress with input from the project team and produce reports as necessary.
* Highlight areas of concern in the construction progress and review mitigation measures with the project team; including compensation events and their cause and effect.
* Assist Project Teams with planning-related matters and attend meetings with project teams and clients.
* Collate progress information and produce progress reporting as required.
* Create, update, and maintain comprehensive project schedules in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project.
* Conduct Project Controls, including cost forecasting, earned value management, risk assessment, and change control.
* Provide Schedule Analysis and Reporting; prepare and deliver regular project progress reports and analysis.
* Collaborate with Project Teams to provide scheduling advice, support change management, and resolve scheduling issues.
* Ensure data accuracy and integrity.
* Provide Programme Manager with monthly reporting Drumbreat.
* Ad hoc client site visits to Lingley Mere (Warrington); ability to travel to multiple sites as required by the client (noting main sites in Kendal and Warrington).
Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
* Expert user of Primavera P6 software.
* A detailed understanding of infrastructure projects, how they are designed, constructed, and commissioned.
* Able to accurately define project schedules and plan with clarity.
* Deep understanding of Project Control principles and techniques, including budget and spend management, change control, data analysis, and trend analysis.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
* Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and quality.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
* Relevant certifications (e.g., PMI-SP, PSP) (Desired).
* Valid UK driving licence.
