Assistant Site Manager – 10-Month Freelance Contract
Location: Woolwich, London
Contract Type: Freelance / Temporary
Duration: 10 Months
Project: 115-Unit Residential Development (First Fix to Handover)

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a reliable and proactive Assistant Site Manager with major developer experience to support the internal delivery team on a 10-month freelance contract. This role is with a respected and well-established residential developer delivering a 115-unit scheme in Woolwich.

As Assistant Site Manager, you will work closely with the Internal Site Manager and wider site team to oversee the internal fit-out across multiple floors—from first fix through to final handover. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to further develop their site management experience within a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in coordinating internal works across multiple floors

Support in managing subcontractor packages, ensuring quality and programme targets are met

Monitor daily site progress and report updates to the Site Manager and Project Manager

Help ensure work is completed on schedule and complies with health & safety standards

Maintain site documentation and support site inductions and inspections

Assist with snagging and final handover preparations

Requirements:

SMSTS or SSSTS (SSSTS acceptable for Assistant level)

CSCS Card (Black, White, or Gold Card preferred)

First Aid at Work (in-date)

Previous experience in residential fit-out (ideally from first fix to completion)

Strong organisational and communication skills

Eligibility to work in the UK
