Summary of vacancy - Support the Medical Department in delivering high-quality medical care, injury management, and player welfare provision across the Academy. - Contribute to the planning and implementation of effective medical and rehabilitation programmes for all academy players. Working days: • Evenings. Reports into: • Senior Academy Physiotherapist. • Academy Manager. Key relationships: • Foundation Phase Lead Coach. • Youth Development Phase Lead Coach. • Sport Science staff • Player Care Officer 9-16 • Academy Administrator Key duties: • Work with the Senior Academy Physiotherapist and other part time medical staff to assess all players regarding fitness, injury status, and return-to-play progression. • Conduct assessments and, where appropriate, liaise with players’ family doctors or external medical professionals. • Provide appropriate medical equipment and ensure it is used safely and effectively. • Deliver evidence-based treatments aligned with current best practice and contemporary literature. • Provide medical support to players, and where appropriate, staff and officials of the club. • Contribute to decisions regarding player fitness to train and play, in collaboration with the medical team. • Assist in planning and delivering rehabilitation programmes for injured players. • Communicate player availability and medical status to the relevant coaching staff. • Promote a positive image of Bradford City FC and the Academy at all times. • Adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, including safeguarding, health & safety, and operational standards outlined in the Academy Staff Handbook. • Maintain confidentiality in accordance with the Data Protection Act and club policies. Qualifications • Undergraduate Degree in Physiotherapy, Sports Therapy or Sports Rehabilitation. • Intermediate Trauma Medical Management in Football (ITMiF or equivalent). • Enhanced DBS clearance (BCFC ‑ approved and in date). • Up ‑ to ‑ date Safeguarding qualifications.
