🎬 YouTube Content Director (Freelance / Remote)
We’re looking for a YouTube-native Content Director to help shape and package high-performing long-form videos in the adventure / history niche.
This role is for someone who understands what makes videos go viral on YouTube — not just when it comes to the video itself, but also how it is packaged for posting on the platform.
👥 The Team & Channel
You’d be joining a team of 7 people, all dedicated to creating:
👉 the highest quality adventure and history content possible
We focus on:
• Exploring remote, hard-to-reach locations
• Documenting sites that have rarely (or never) been filmed before
• Creating content designed to perform at the highest level on YouTube

🎯 The Role
You will be responsible for shaping and delivering viral, high quality YouTube videos from idea through edit to final packaging.
🔧 Responsibilities
🎬 Edit Direction & Feedback
• Review rough cuts and provide clear, actionable feedback for editors
• Improve pacing, structure, and retention
• Suggest re-edits, cuts, and restructuring where needed
🧠 Story & Script Development
• Write / refine voiceover scripts
• Craft strong hooks and intros
• Identify missing story beats
• Craft a story for the video that will maximise watch time and retention as well as provide a valuable viewing experience for the viewer
💡 Ideation & Concept Development
• Generate new viral video ideas matching the channel’s niche
• Improve existing ideas
• Help maximise value from planned productions
🎒 Production Planning
• Advise on:
* What needs to be filmed
* How to capture stronger story moments
* How to improve upcoming shoots
🧲 Packaging (Critical)
• Develop for high CTR:
* Titles
* Thumbnail concepts
* Work with editor/designer to execute
🧠 What We’re Looking For
✅ Must-Have Experience
• Strong experience in YouTube video production
• Proven track record of working on high-performing / viral YouTube videos
• Ability to show clear examples or case studies of videos you’ve helped go viral
🎯 Deep Understanding of YouTube Performance
You must have a strong understanding of:
• Click-through rate (CTR) and thumbnail/title performance
• The importance of a strong hook and intro
• Structuring videos for maximum audience retention
🎬 End-to-End YouTube Thinking
We’re looking for someone who understands the full process:
👉 From idea → to video structure → to final packaging
You should be able to:
• Identify ideas with strong viral potential
• Shape those ideas into high-performing video concepts
• Structure edits for retention and engagement
• Package videos (title + thumbnail) to maximise clicks
🎥 Background
• Ideally has worked professionally within the YouTube content space
• Bonus if you are / have been a YouTube creator yourself
🌍 Bonus
• Interest in adventure, exploration, or documentary-style content

£2,500 – £4,000/month (flexible for the right candidate)
