Trainee Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT)
This training role within CYP IAPT involves working in The Link as part of a team delivering evidence-based interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post-holder will attend university-based study days at Northumbria University and work in the service to apply their skills in practice.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Assess children and young people under supervision, including risk assessments.
* Support management of waiting lists, prioritising and signposting.
* Collaborate with families, social care, and other professionals.
* Deliver therapeutic interventions in collaboration with clients and families.
* Use routine outcome monitoring tools and referral pathways.
* Evaluate clinical treatments and support self-management.
* Develop treatment plans and support case management.
* Provide information on psychological treatments, including guided self-help.
Training and Supervision
* Complete all training components and apply learning to practice.
* Attend weekly supervision and case management sessions.
* Prepare and present case load information as required.
Partnership Working
* Build effective relationships with educational and health providers.
* Collaborate with local mental health providers and support pathway development.
Safeguarding and Ethics
* Promote child welfare and operate within safeguarding policies.
* Maintain accurate clinical records and undertake CPD.
* Work within GDPR and health and safety policies.
Additional Responsibilities
* Map and review local services for signposting.
* Participate in external provider sessions and service promotion.
* Collaborate with The Link Charitable Trust.
The role requires flexibility and adherence to organisational objectives, with a focus on safe working practices and continuous review of service delivery.
