As a Care Worker with Housing 21 you’ll join a friendly, supportive team and work with residents who live independently in their own apartments within our schemes. Our communities also offer communal lounges, gardens, cafés/bistros and hair salons for residents to enjoy. You’ll build strong relationships by working with familiar residents and colleagues every day.
Once you’re at work, there’s no travelling between calls between properties – you’ll stay with residents within our schemes and contribute to a caring, Extra Care environment.
Responsibilities
* Supporting with household and domestic tasks (laundry, shopping, cleaning, and basic financial transactions such as paying bills).
* Preparing meals, drinks and snacks as needed.
* Encouraging and enabling residents to follow agreed care plans.
* Assisting residents with getting up in the morning and providing personal care (washing/bathing and dressing; helping with undressing and going to bed in the evening) and ensuring medications are taken as required.
* Putting resident wellbeing at the heart of the service and communicating progress to managers and key agencies as appropriate.
Qualifications
* Good written and verbal English communication skills.
* Commitment to undertake necessary further training.
* A genuine desire to help people.
* Reliability and flexibility.
* The ability to use your initiative.
* Ability to remain calm under pressure.
* A friendly, kind disposition and willingness to be supportive.
Benefits
* Paid by the hour, not by the job. £12.96 per hour; full-time equivalent £23,648 per annum (based on 35 hours per week).
