Role Purpose:
1. To provide planning support to a number of projects in the South East area, be proficient at P6, to provide regular updates and reports to Project Management.
2. Responsible at tender stage to the Planning Lead or Bid Manager for the range of activities involved in the project planning life cycle, which includes:
What you'll be doing
As a Planner, you will have the following accountabilities:
3. Ensuring that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning standards, procedures and guidance.
4. Identifying planning scope, major constraints and contract requirements
5. Identifying major quantities and factors affecting the programme
6. Establishing and agreeing with Operations construction outputs and agree working hours with appropriate Estimator
7. Establishing and agreeing with Operations and Bid Team key methods of construction, sequencing, installation and commissioning
8. Producing and documenting the planning deliverables including programmes, planning philosophy, presentations and reports
9. Producing the Tender Programme and supporting information in accordance with the tender requirements
10. Developing overall programmes, issuing to all parties for review and implementing recommendations, innovation and best practice as applicable
11. Reconciling company and subcontract plant/labour and major materials elements in conjunction where appropriate Applying resource levelling techniques as necessary
12. Interfacing with third parties to identify and resolve issues
13. At contract stage the Planner is accountable to the Planning/Project Lead for, Ensuring that the Contract Programme is produced, managed and maintained in accordance with the planning standards, The overall planning strategy, The issue and communication of the Contract Programme to the Project Lead for onward issue to Client and Project Team
14. Provide support, as required to the BIM Co-ordinators to meet the project requirements or tender submission deliverables
15. Set up appropriate lean visual programme to assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve productivity, performance and safety of projects
Who we're looking for
You will have the following:
16. Operational experience with previous experience of planning services in small to medium sized projects
17. Proficiency in the use of planning techniques and the required planning toolsets
18. An understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications.
19. An understanding of risk and opportunity management with particular reference to planning programming
20. An understanding of the events that initiate, and of the methods used to demonstrate, delay or change entitlement.
21. A good understanding of various forms of tender documents, contract documents and specifications
22. An understanding of various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring.
23. Experience of enterprise wide cultural and performance change in complex technical organisations
24. Demonstrated effective leadership of both direct reports and indirect reports (dotted) teams to drive change to positively impact business results
25. An understanding of the construction market, methods of construction, plant, equipment and labour requirements. Articulate communicator with the capability to engage and motivate at all levels of the business
