Your New JobAre you an experienced Level 3 Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Hays Education is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary special school in Rochdale, Greater Manchester to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team. This full-time role is available for an immediate start or post-half term and offers the potential for a permanent placement. You will be supporting students aged 11–16 with a range ofplex needs including autism spectrum condition (ASC), social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) challenges, and moderate learning difficulties (MLD). Your role will involve:
1. Providing tailored support to students on a 1:1 and small group basis
2. Assisting teachers in delivering differentiated and accessible lessons
3. Promoting independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing
4. Supporting behaviour management strategies and safeguarding protocols
5. Collaborating with the wider SEND and pastoral teams to ensure holistic support

What You'll Need to Succeed
6. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
7. Experience working with children or young people with SEND, ideally in a school setting
8. A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting learning and behaviour
9. Strongmunication and teamwork skills
10. An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
