Are you an experienced and dynamic Shift Supervisor - Leading Hand looking for your next permanent role? We may have the role for you. We are recruiting to join our friendly team at our Linford Block Plant, located close to Stanford-le-Hope in Essex. The site is accessible from Tilbury, Gravesend, Rochester, Gillingham, Dartford, Purfleet on Thames, Grays, Wickford, Southend-on-Sea, Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay and surrounding areas. This is a 40 hours per week, 24/7 shift role.
At Linford Plant we manufacture sustainable, tough and energy efficient aerated blocks. The Shift Supervisor - Leading Hand is responsible for the safe operation of the plant, ensuring daily tasks are completed including general site housekeeping, basic maintenance, and the safe and efficient operation of mobile and fixed plant. The Shift Supervisor acts as a leader within the shift, coordinating required labour and the training and development of the shift team. You will need to show a high degree of flexibility and build good working relationships with your team.

Responsibilities
* Labour utilisation within budgeted controls
* Training and development of team
* Supervise team and manage contractors and haulier engagement
* Ensure safe load optimisation
* Prioritising planned works
* Ensuring that Health & Safety rules are adhered to and deliver safety/operational performance targets, supporting a culture of health and safety best practice by setting a personal example
* Comply with all Tarmac/CRH Policies & Procedures
* Supporting continuous improvement of Health, Safety and Environmental performance standards
* Supporting continuous improvement of process, plant and production
* Effective completion of operator preventative maintenance tasks
* Balancing the time covering operation and housekeeping
* Ensuring mobile plant cleanliness standards
* Ensuring daily compliance checks and standards
* Building working relationships with other production and maintenance personnel
* Good time keeping and flexibility
* Ensure products of high quality are efficiently produced
* Ensure that Site Inspections are completed and recorded
* Read, understand and sign method statements and risk assessments for all activities
* Attend and actively participate in Daily Briefings and Weekly Safety Briefings
* Identify SHE improvement opportunities
* Comply with planning and other operating restrictions (site boundaries, noise, dust, hours, etc.)
* Ensure Daily KPIs are recorded accurately and work with the team to meet agreed KPIs
* Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement and review/best practices as appropriate
* Control daily operations of the plant in line with operating SOPs
* Coordinate maintenance activities with the maintenance team/contractors during normal days and shutdowns
Qualifications (The Ideal Candidate)
* Manufacturing process experience
* Heavy plant and equipment experience
* PC literate including Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint
* Familiar with ISO 9001, 14001, 18001, 50001 standards
* Good oral and written English
