VACANCY: Production Supervisor

ABOUT US:
Bryan Donkin Valves Limited is part of the AVK Group; who are market leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of valves, pipe fittings, hydrants and flow control equipment to the Water, Waste Water, Oil and Gas industries throughout the world.
At our site in Staveley, we are looking for a Production Supervisor to lead and develop our team. You will maintain all manufacturing processes, ensure the effective management of people & equipment and drive change in all aspects of manufacturing.
A strong and proven background in manufacturing / engineering is required along with successes in leading, mentoring and improving Operations teams. This is a hands-on role and would suit an experienced Production Supervisor looking to contribute to the production strategy.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
• Responsible for all manufacturing activities
• Ensure the highest quality standards are applied to all production processes
• Maintain out-put to achieve on-time delivery
• Lead daily team reviews, meetings and updates
• Contribute and lead LEAN SQDIPP KPI’s and LEAN projects
• Actively drive continuous improvements using lean tools and actively contribute to projects
• Ensure Works Orders and Data Capture sheets are completed with meaningful information
• Control and implementation of training / re-training of departmental staff
• Responsible for Daily production meeting with Production Manager and Supply Chain Coordinator
• User of Navision Systems
• Assist with the analysis of data and operating systems to reduce WIP
• Set targets, KPI measures and TAKT times on all production processes
• Responsible for sickness, absence and holidays to ensure all manpower levels are met
• Achieve zero customer complaints
ABOUT YOU:
• Recent and relevant experience within a production / manufacturing / engineering environment
• Previous experience of running a team; particularly coaching, training and development
• Proficient in Microsoft packages and the use of Navision
• An enthusiastic self-starter with the ability to motivate others
• The ability to follow procedure and schedules whilst also possessing a desire to continually improve
• Be an excellent communicator with the ability to lead and influence all levels.
• Experience and knowledge of lean systems and best practice
