Join to apply for the Support Practitioner (Female only) role at Cornerstone.
We are looking for new part-time (16 or 32 hours), permanent team members to support two ladies with profound learning and physical disabilities who live in their own shared home. The role offers varied days and responsibilities.
Responsibilities
* Provide daily living support to the two ladies, including personal care, shopping, finances, cooking, housework and medication
* Support hobbies and interests such as music, films, in-house activities, baking, arts & crafts
* Help the ladies participate in activities in the local community (cinema, discos, walks, day trips)
* Assistance with mobility: potential driving duties to enable community participation (drivers preferred but not required)
About You
* You don’t need prior experience; we recruit on values and transferable skills
* We will pay you for training and provide practical skills
* We’ll fund SVQ (SCQF level 6/7) and yearly SSSC registration fees
* Bring a caring and compassionate attitude, ability to work in a team, strong communication and organizational skills
* Apositive attitude with a willingness to learn and a creative drive to improve lives
* Confidence in the use of computers
Shift Patterns
Patterns include early mornings, days, evenings, waking nights, weekends and public holidays to provide around-the-clock support tailored to individual needs. Waking nights are paid at the normal hourly rate plus an additional £20 per night.
Other Information
Successful candidates will be required to join the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme and work towards an SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare with support from our Training Academy. Please note: if you have spent more than 12 months outside the UK (excluding listed countries) within the last 10 years after age 18, you may be asked to provide a criminal record certificate as part of pre-employment checks. If successful, you will need to register with the SSSC within 3 months of starting employment.
