The Position
An opportunity has arisen for a Dentist to join the Emergency Dental Service in Orkney providing relief cover. The successful applicant will join an established team of Dentists and Dental Care Professionals to deliver urgent dental care under NHS terms and conditions to the whole population of Orkney, during evenings and weekends.
The Candidate
We are looking for a clinician who makes patient care a priority and thrives working with a number of different patient groups. Applicants are expected to have a high level of skill, be confident to work within their competencies and adopt a reflective, self-critical approach. The team enjoys excellent, modern, well-equipped facilities and values a fantastic team of experienced staff.
Requirements:
* Full GDC registration.
* Eligibility to hold a Board Dental List Number in Scotland.
* Excellent communication skills and the drive to provide outstanding service.
Location, Working Pattern and Contract Duration
This post will be based at The Balfour. The successful candidate will work on a relief rota of approximately 1 in 8 weeks.
It is a condition of employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post you will be employed with NHS Orkney.

The salary for this post is £900 per quarter on-call intensity payment + £154.02 per 3-hour weekend session when on call (+12.07% annual leave allowance).
