Are you ready to lead a bold digital evolution in a public sector at a time of strategic change? We’re seeking an Interim Director of Digital Transformation to shape and deliver a transformative digital strategy for a leading foundation committed to creating impact.
Working closely with the Chief People and Transformation Officer and the Executive Team, you will set and implement a Digital Transformation Strategy that underpins a major organisational shift—from reliance on a single income source to becoming a digitally enabled organisation.
In our grant‑making arm, we are driving efficiencies and innovation by applying technology, digital solutions, and AI to our processes. This role will ensure that technology, digital innovation, AI, and data insights are embedded across operations, grant‑making activities, and fundraising growth plans.
Your role will include:
* Strategic Leadership: Define and deliver the Digital Transformation Strategy aligned with organisational priorities.
* Innovation & Enablement: Champion user‑centred design, digital literacy, and a culture of continuous improvement.
* Data & Insights: Develop data as a trusted ‘source of truth’ to inform decision‑making and impact.
* Technology Oversight: Manage the full digital and technology estate, ensuring scalability, security, and efficiency. Modernise legacy systems and drive integration to reduce duplication and enhance efficiency including the management and evolution of the Foundation's core platforms – Salesforce and MS 365 / Azure including Teams, Finance System, SharePoint, Azure AD, Office 365.
* AI & Automation: Embed AI and digital innovation into grant‑making and operational processes.
* Collaboration: Work closely with senior leaders to ensure digital transformation supports fundraising growth and organisational impact.
Person Specification
Skills, abilities, and attributes:
* Extensive knowledge of IT disciplines, strategy, and architecture.
* Experience of having adopted AI strategically across an organisation.
* Proven track record in leading technology and digital transformations within a non‑profit organisation.
* Comfortable delivering strategy; overseeing planning, budgets and suppliers.
* Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to motivate and inspire teams, and to drive forward a culture shift around technology/digital in the organisation.
* Strategic thinker with excellent project management skills.
* Experience in fundraising.
* Experience in MS 365/Azure, Salesforce, data governance.
* Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
* Ability to communicate to technical and non‑technical audiences and interpret between them.
