What is the job role?
As a Teaching Assistant at Tiverton School, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and care of pupils with a range of needs.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Supporting teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive learning activities
2. Assisting with the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress
3. Working with individuals or small groups, including during trips and special activities
4. Implementing specialist programmes alongside professionals such as therapists
5. Providing personal care where required, including feeding and intimate care
6. Supporting behaviour management and contributing to positive learning environments
7. Preparing classroom resources and maintaining accurate records
8. Promoting effective communication between school and home

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for a dedicated, compassionate and motivated individual who:
9. Has experience working with children (paid or voluntary)
10. Holds (or is working towards) an NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or equivalent
11. Understands child development, safeguarding and inclusive practice
12. Has strong literacy, numeracy and ICT skills
13. Can communicate effectively with pupils, staff and families
14. Is able to support pupils with a range of needs, including personal care
15. Works well as part of a team and builds positive professional relationships
16. Is organised, adaptable and committed to ongoing professional development
17. Demonstrates enthusiasm, resilience and a genuine passion for supporting young people
Working hours are:
Monday - 8.30am - 4.30pm
Tuesday - Thursday - 8.30am - 4.15pm
Friday - 8.30am - 3.30pm
15 minute unpaid break in the morning and 30 minute unpaid lunch break.
