Summary
We’re looking for a General Cleaner with the practical skills and eye for detail to keep Powis Castle in excellent condition and running smoothly for all the people who visit.
For this role, you’ll need to complete our online assessment instead of using a C.V. or online application form. This will help us understand more about your strengths and give you more information on the role.
This is a zero-hour contract, meaning we can’t guarantee a set number of hours each week. While we aim to provide a consistent work pattern, flexibility is needed as schedules may change based on business needs. We’ll try to give as much notice as possible. The role includes weekends and Bank Holidays but does not require evening or split shifts.

What it's like to work here
This world-famous medieval fortress is set among magnificent formal gardens, terraces and parkland, making Powis Castle an awe-inspiring place to work. The strong team is passionate about local sourcing, with delicious seasonal produce served in the restaurant and bespoke Welsh products sold in the shop. The impressive collection of paintings, tapestries and sculptures is one of the property’s key attractions, alongside a busy programme of events – many of which are food themed.
What you'll be doing
You’ll be helping with the day-to-day cleaning and presentation of the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces.
Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter-picking, both inside and outdoors, form a core part of this role. You’ll aim for the highest standards of customer service everywhere you look after.
