Knowledge Development Lawyer – Pensions (London / Hybrid)
An established, high-performing Pensions practice is seeking an experienced Knowledge Development Lawyer to join its London team. This is a permanent role within a highly ranked advisory and contentious pensions group known for clear, practical and commercial advice, as well as involvement in cutting-edge developments across the sector.
The Opportunity
This position plays a central role in driving the team’s knowledge strategy, supporting technical excellence, delivering high-quality training, shaping client communications and helping maintain the group’s market-leading reputation. You will work closely with partners and fee-earners across the practice, collaborating with cross-departmental teams, business development and innovation specialists.
Key Responsibilities
Technical and Knowledge Expertise
* Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pensions law and market developments.
* Prepare current awareness updates, guidance notes and precedents.
* Horizon scan to identify emerging trends and contribute to thought leadership.
* Support client matters through technical input where required.
Client and Market Engagement
* Draft legal updates and briefings for clients.
* Coordinate and support client seminars, including research, materials and presentations.
* Represent the practice in relevant external networks.
Training and Development
* Identify training needs across the pensions team.
* Design, deliver or organise training sessions, including cross-team and cross-office learning.
* Ensure effective knowledge sharing across the practice.
Precedents and Knowledge Systems
* Develop and maintain precedents and clause libraries.
* Manage and enhance know-how resources using internal knowledge platforms.
* Maintain intranet content and support digital knowledge delivery tools.
* Work with information specialists to tailor news aggregation and research sources.
Collaboration and Innovation
* Work with partners and innovation teams to improve client service delivery.
* Mentor junior colleagues in best practice and efficient working methods.
* Support BD by contributing to pitches and marketing materials.
General Knowledge Management Support
* Assist with research enquiries and information retrieval.
* Support administrative tasks for knowledge meetings, agendas and action points.
* Participate in testing new knowledge systems as a super user.
* Keep abreast of key issues in pensions and related resources.

* Strong technical pensions expertise and a genuine interest in know-how.
* Excellent drafting, research and presentation skills.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
* Commercially aware, collaborative and confident communicating at all levels.
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
* Comfortable with IT systems and digital knowledge tools.
* Proactive, self-motivated and able to use initiative to drive projects forward.
