At Oldmixon Primary School, we have a new position open for an office administrator to join a friendly administrative team, providing an efficient point of contact within our reception.

We are looking for a highly organised and proactive administrator to provide comprehensive support across our general school administration functions. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of our school office.

Hours: 40 hours per week, term‑time 8:00am-4:30pm

Actual Salary: E4 - £25,785.52

Closing date: 15 May 2026 by midday

Interview date: 19 May 2026

You’ll be responsible for overseeing the reception facility, answering calls and dealing with face‑to‑face enquiries, signing in visitors and ensuring all visitors are appropriately monitored, as well as providing general clerical and administrative support and maintaining school records.


Key responsibilities:

* Act as a first point of contact for parents, pupils, and visitors, providing a professional and welcoming reception service.
* Maintain accurate records on school IT systems and single central record (SRC).
* Support with pupil admissions and statutory census returns.
* Assist with school communications, newsletters, events, and website updates.
* Contribute to resource planning and procurement processes.


What we’re looking for

* Previous administrative experience in a confidential environment; experience in a school setting desirable.
* Excellent typing and IT skills (Microsoft Office proficiency).
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
* Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
* Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Positive approach, professionalism, and empathy with the ethos and aims of our school and trust.
