Our Story

Tegel Foods Ltd is an iconic New Zealand brand with a proud history of delivering high-quality products that meet New Zealand's exceptional standards. We produce a wide variety of Halal chicken products in high volumes, supplying families across the country every day.

To keep leading our industry, we rely on talented people in all areas of the business to work as "one team in one direction" to align with our wider company goals. Our National Planning team, based at our Newmarket head office, is expanding — and we’re looking for a Demand Planner who will strengthen the integrity of our forecasting processes and support insight‑driven decision‑making across the S&OP cycle.

About the Role

Reporting to the Sales & Operations Planning Manager, the Demand Planner will manage the accuracy of our historical demand baseline in Trade Promotion Management (TPM) This role acts as the SME for baseline model selection, and deliver analytical insights that improve Sales‑owned forecasts. You will manage the forecasting calendar and daily demand splits, serve as the TPM Business Product Owner and super user, and lead visibility and accountability around forecast accuracy across both baseline and promotional performance.

This role suits someone naturally curious, detail‑driven, and proactive — a planning professional who thrives in environments that value structure, discipline, and clarity. You’ll bring strong analytical capability, a commitment to data integrity, and the confidence to challenge assumptions with logic and insight.

A Day in the Life of the role

1. Create a clean demand signal - ensure high data integrity and challenge baseline assumptions to maintain an unconstrained view of demand.
2. Act as TPM Super User — provide expert guidance, troubleshoot issues, and uphold best‑practice governance as the Business Product Owner.
3. Lead forecast accuracy insights — drive visibility of accuracy, bias, and gaps across baseline and promotional forecasts.
4. Partner cross‑functionally — work with Sales, Marketing, and Category teams to understand market trends, customer behaviour, and product performance to inform forecasting assumptions.

What You'll Bring

5. 2–4+ years in Demand Planning, Forecasting, TPM, or related commercial/supply chain analysis roles
6. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
7. FMCG experience or exposure to fast‑moving, data‑rich environments.
8. Strong problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
9. Commercial acumen and structured planning capability.
10. Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
11. Knowledge of Blueshift software (advantageous).

What's in it for You?

12. Competitive salary + Kiwisaver contributions matched upto 4%

13. Medical and life insurance

14. Staff discounts on Tegel products

15. Supportive, collaborative team environment

16. Carpark onsite
