We invite you to bring your expertise as a Rail Sector focused Building Services Director to join our multi‑disciplinary ‘Buildings’ team. We are looking for an inspirational leader to build new relationships with clients, while supporting the growth and leadership of the rail sector.

Your new role
As our new MEP rail sector lead, you will play a pivotal role in leading and developing Ramboll’s offering in Stations, Depots and associated developments across the UK.
Key Responsibilities
* To lead rail projects of scale as the most senior Ramboll point of contact on a project, delivering projects profitably and to the satisfaction of clients, with full technical and commercial project leadership responsibilities.
* Demonstrate excellent engineering skills and full appreciation of rail building services design incorporating digital engineering.
* Hold roles of responsibility such as CEM, CRE, DPE, PE or equivalent on rail schemes and be familiar with client technical assurance processes and railway standards.
* Show commercial and contractual competence, delivering projects while managing commercial and contractual issues.
* Raise Ramboll’s rail offering profile and reputation across the UK and internationally, marketing extensively via networking, B2B meetings, seminars, thought leadership and business development.
* Support and develop Building Services Engineers in all aspects of rail design, including competence management and training oversight.
* Contribute to developing and promoting Ramboll’s multi‑discipline capability in the local market.
* Attract talented recruits to grow a skilled, diverse, efficient, and highly regarded Ramboll Buildings team.
About You
* Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and Chartered Engineer, with a proven track record in consulting.
* In‑depth knowledge of the rail sector across the UK.
* Previous experience delivering major rail projects.
* Notable and growing profile as a highly regarded and trusted Building Services leader.
* Forward‑thinking and enthusiastic about digital design innovation and smart design.
* Solid client‑facing skills, experienced in presenting to clients, preparing and negotiating proposals, and procuring project resources.
* Proven ability to win business for the company, understanding the marketplace, growth sectors, and busy clients.
* Ability to motivate and develop multidisciplinary professional teams.
* Aptitude for team leadership and ambition for senior leadership career progression.
* Effective English oral and written communication skills.
