The Role
This is a varied, hands-on position working across multiple industrial sites in the Northwest. You’ll be involved in designing, developing, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems that enhance performance and reliability.
From early concept work through to installation and optimisation, you’ll play a key part in bringing solutions to life — tackling challenges, improving processes, and helping us deliver standout results.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver mechanical solutions from initial concept and design through to installation
* Maintain, support, and improve manufacturing equipment (especially within FMCG and pharmaceutical environments)
* Repair and overhaul pumps, motors, valves, bearings, and rotating equipment
* Modify, optimise, and upgrade machinery and production lines
* Work with utilities including compressed air, steam, and water; adjust and install piping systems
* Fabricate, fit, and assemble components directly from technical drawings
* Operate fabrication tools and plant equipment (training provided if required)
* Provide technical support and insight to the project management team
What You’ll Bring
* Time-served or apprentice-trained Mechanical or Electrical Engineer
* Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
* Strong bench fitting, machining, and general mechanical skills
* Solid understanding of design principles, materials, and CAD drawings
* Skilled in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
* Able to work independently or as part of a team, meeting deadlines confidently
* Excellent communication skills and a professional client-facing approach
* Basic Microsoft Office skills for reporting and documentation
Desirable (not essential):
* MEWP/Scissor Lift or working at height certification
* Background in blue-chip manufacturing environments
* IOSH certification
