The position
We are currently seeking for a Senior HSSE Engineer to join BW Offshore Asset Operations team. This role will be based in the Aberdeen office.
You are responsible for
1. Develops and maintains HSSE procedures and forms for the FPSO and in country operational office(s)
2. As appropriate, approves or rejects Management of Change and Deviation Requests from an HSSE perspective
3. Participates in HAZIDs, HAZOPs and facilitate safety studies updates
4. Ownership and responsibility of the Vessel Safety Case
5. Collaborate with other disciplines on SECE Performance Standards review, update and development
6. Reviews incident reports and assists in identifying direct, indirect and root causes and actions to enable effective close-outs
7. Leads or participates in Incident Investigations.
8. Responsible for provision of Health, Safety, Security and Environmental advice and support to FPSO and in country operational offices
9. Represents BW Offshore with consultants, authorities, and clients on HSSE matters when required
10. Responsible to monitor UK operational compliance to internal and relevant national and international HSSE standards and legislation
Education and experience
11. Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Mechanical, Environmental, Technical, Marine or Process Engineering
12. Formal qualifications in health and safety management, long relevant experience may replace formal qualifications
13. Minimum of 5 years in offshore FPSO industry
14. Working knowledge of UK HSE Standards and legislation
15. Experience in Safety case management
16. Previous work experience in UK Offshore oil and gas sector in an Operational / HSE role is preferred
17. Procedures and documentation development and review
18. Internal and vendor prequalification auditing
19. Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality aspects in an operational environment
20. Classification Society and Flag State rules and regulations, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, etc.
