Community Integrated Care is recruiting for a Bank Support Worker, with flexible shift patterns.

This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced support worker to step up. You will support adults with learning disabilities and autism, who have complex needs, to lead the best life possible.

Meet the People We Support:

We are 6 young adults in our 20’s and 30’s and share one thing; how different and unique we all are. We are all mobile and like to get out and about. Some of us may require different levels of support in our home or in the community. We have different challenges in our lives which include learning difficulties, communication, and autism. We have a large staff team at Ridgewood who are all trained to support us and our needs.

What is important to us

18. Our homes – we are very proud of our own bungalows and have decorated them the way we like them with our own favourite things
19. Being busy - we all like different things these can include shopping, music, gaming, eating out, cinema, theatre, the park, going for walks, going on public transport, bowling, days in the country and many, many more.
20. Having Fun - we like to have fun at Ridgewood and have a laugh with our staff team. We love going out and having fun but we also love being as independent as possible in our bungalows. We also sometimes have parties and crafts in bungalow 1 (the office) and in the garden - this is where we can all get together and have parties and barbeques
21. Our Staff - we like warm, friendly, and kind staff we would not like anyone who is too loud or bossy but hopefully you like to laugh and sing

Our Home

22. There are 7 Bungalows at Ridgewood Number 1 is an office for staff
23. The other 6 are for us we have our own tenancies and are decorate our homes how we like
24. We each have a large bathroom, kitchen, 2 bedrooms, plus a lounge and a private garden.
25. Our neighbours are all amazing as our neighbours are each other, we have our own little street.
26. We have private parking which you can use to park your car
27. We have a shared car for outings
28. There is a big field at the front to use and have picnics on
29. There are lots of shops, pubs, cafés and restaurants close by
30. South Gosforth metro is a 5-minute walk meaning getting out and about is easy. There also lots of local buses.

Your values:

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in mental health, autism and sensory communication, and physical health.

If you do not have a qualification, you will need to have experience in social care.

You will know how to connect with people and be passionate about supporting people to live independently. You will also be a brilliant mentor and share your skills and experiences with your colleagues.

We will develop your talents with a range of specialist training, including the opportunity to learn Positive Behaviour Support methods, Makaton and the Picture Exchange System.

During recruitment you will meet the people we support in their home. This will allow you to see their wonderful personalities first-hand and fully understand the level of support that they require.
