About the role
A Technical Service Engineer at Fisher and Paykel Healthcare means providing an excellent service to customers and colleagues in the areas of product maintenance and repair. Ideally you will have worked in medical devices and have a qualification in electronical engineering, electronic or biomedical engineering. Based in our Maidenhead office 60% of the time, you will work as part of a team of 4 servicing devices in our workshop, and about 20-40% of time you will go out to our customers to services their devices in the hospital setting or providing training to the biomedical engineers. This is predominantly in England and Wales, along with a regular monthly week in Ireland.
What the role involves
* Service and repair of product: Accurately enter product surveillance data into the Product Surveillance Database. Provide a high standard of repairs, cleaning servicing, and other maintenance tasks, whether in the office or in healthcare settings.
* Technical Queries: To understand customer requirements and make appropriate technical recommendations to ensure correct functioning of equipment. Diagnose errors and technical problems and follow correct troubleshooting process using correct product technical manual.
* Documentation: Follow all the Company's servicing documentation, procedures and protocols (including NOT providing any clinical or user advice). Produce timely and detailed service reports.
* Technical Training: Develop and deliver training courses to customers both on site and at the Maidenhead office.
* Service visits: Complete external service visits.
* Technical expert: Continually developing your comprehensive technical knowledge of all the Company's products in order to be able to support both customers and the sales team in problem solving technical issues.
Key competencies for success
* A track record of field or onsite service engineer experience combined with good exposure to direct customer interactions will ensure you have the best starting point.
* Qualification in electronical engineering, electronic or biomedical engineering is an essential requirement.
* You will be a good communicator, able to focus and prioritise, and enjoy problem solving
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team
* UK driving license
* Ability to travel to Ireland to service our devices.
