We are seeking a compassionate, resilient and experienced Team Leader to join our small but impactful residential children's home in Herefordshire. This two-bedded home provides a safe, stable, and supportive environment for children with emotional and behavioural needs, helping them thrive and reach their potential.
About the Role
As Team Leader, you will play a crucial role in leading a small team of Residential Support Workers, ensuring the home operates to the highest standards of care and compliance. You will support the Registered Manager in day-to-day operations and will often act as the lead professional on shift, ensuring young people's individual care plans are followed with empathy and consistency.
Key responsibilities include:
* Providing leadership, supervision, and support to care staff on shift
* Acting as a positive role model for young people and the team
* Contributing to care planning and the development of the home
* Ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
* Supporting with rota planning and household management
* Building trusting relationships with the young people, promoting emotional wellbeing, education and personal development
* Assisting the Registered Manager with audits, reports, and staff development
What We're Looking For
* NVQ Level 3 (Children & Young People / Residential Childcare) – essential
* Experience working in a children's residential setting – minimum 2 years
* Supervisory or senior support worker experience preferred
* Strong understanding of safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and behaviour support strategies
* Ability to work flexibly, including weekends and sleep-in shifts
* Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
* A commitment to the rights and welfare of young people
