Business Account Manager – Role Overview
We are looking for a Business Account Manager to work on a high-profile customer account on a 12‑month fixed term contract. You will manage the customer account with Biscuits and Confectionery sales of £50m (80% of the account P&L). The role involves communicating and executing the sales agenda, forecasting, and delivering the Biscuits P&L. Working closely with the Account Lead, you will support the delivery of the business agenda and develop a multi‑year strategy for the customer.
Key Responsibilities
* Build and maintain relationships with Biscuits and Confectionery buyers.
* Engage with internal teams and influence the business to align to the customer strategy, ensuring the customer is at the heart of what we do.
* Create and execute a sales plan across Biscuits and Confectionery that delivers or exceeds budget, negotiate its execution through a Joint Business Plan (JBP), and provide a sales forecast.
* Support and challenge the business in developing distinct customer execution aligned to the customer’s desire for exclusives and differentiation.
* Own, develop and execute all seasonal activity – Godiva (Easter, Mother’s Day, Thank You Teacher, Valentine’s Day, Christmas) and Sweet & Savoury Biscuits & Baked Snacks (Christmas).
* Deliver weekly and monthly sales numbers vs. forecast across Biscuits and Confectionery, driving sales and maximising profit.
Qualifications
* Proven experience in account management within FMCG.
* Proven experience in a customer‑facing role and handling tough conversations.
* Driven, individualistic, and creative to challenge the status quo internally and externally.
* Ability to work effectively autonomously and within a team towards a common goal.
* Strong problem‑solving and solution‑oriented under pressure.
* Creative flair to turn challenges into opportunities.
* Excellent prioritisation and workload management skills.
