The Headteacher and Governors are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisor to support the safe, positive, and inclusive lunchtime experience for the children at Enderby Road Infant and Nursery School.
The role will involve supervising children during the lunchtime period, both in the dining hall and on the playground, promoting positive behaviour and encouraging social interaction. The successful candidate will support pupils with their wellbeing and safety, assist with any minor incidents, and help ensure lunchtime runs smoothly for all children.

Job Role
In this role, you will be responsible for supervising pupils during the lunchtime period and supporting their wellbeing and safety across the school. As part of our team, you will be expected to:
• Support Positive Lunchtimes: Supervise pupils in the dining hall and on the playground, promoting good behaviour, positive social interactions, and inclusive play.
• Ensure Safety and Wellbeing: Actively support pupils’ safety and wellbeing, responding appropriately to minor incidents and ensuring children feel supported and cared for.
• Follow School Policies and Procedures: Work in line with school policies and routines to maintain a safe, consistent, and supportive lunchtime environment.
• Work Collaboratively: Work closely with other midday supervisors, teaching staff, and the wider school team to ensure lunchtime runs smoothly.
• Providing and Responding to Feedback: Share observations, concerns, and suggestions with colleagues to help continually improve lunchtime provision.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience Required:
• Understanding of children’s behaviour, wellbeing, and safeguarding
• Ability to supervise and engage with children aged 3-7 in a positive and supportive way
• Good communication skills to interact effectively with pupils, staff, and visitors
• Ability to promote positive behaviour and manage low-level conflict calmly and fairly
• Awareness of health & safety procedures, including playground and dining hall safety
• Ability to work as part of a team and follow school policies and procedures
• Confidence to act quickly and appropriately in emergencies
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• Patient, caring, and approachable manner
• Reliable, punctual, and able to use initiative
